Understanding Your Neural Synergy Score

Every time you complete a session in BrainyPlayLab, your performance feeds into a rich scoring system that goes far beyond a single number. Here’s a deep dive into what your Neural Synergy Score actually measures.

The Five Sub-Scores

  • PSI — Processing Speed Index (reaction time × accuracy)
  • WMI — Working Memory Index (span × decay resistance)
  • ICI — Inhibitory Control Index (error suppression rate)
  • CFI — Cognitive Flexibility Index (rule-switching efficiency)
  • ATI — Attention Index (consistency and sustained focus)

The Composite Formula

The Neural Synergy composite uses a weighted harmonic mean rather than a simple average. A catastrophically low score in one domain pulls the composite down significantly — reflecting the reality that cognitive domains are interdependent.

Reading Your Trends

The most important number isn’t your current score — it’s your trend slope. A score of 65 trending up over 30 sessions is more meaningful than a static 80. Watch for consistent upward trends, plateaus (time to increase difficulty), and declining trends (potential fatigue or stress).
